Sam Dale

CFO

Sam is passionate about practical solutions to international economic development, poverty reduction and energy access. He began his career as a journalist, covering the Asia energy industry, and then turned his attention to energy consulting, in which he led sales and business operations in South-East Asia, North Asia, and North America. Sam has appeared numerous times as an expert energy industry commentator on CNN, Bloomberg, MSNBC and BBC World.

Sam has an MBA (University of Nottingham, UK) in International Finance, and a Master of International Relations (Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand), and is currently enrolled in the Data, Economics & Development Policy (DEDP) Program (MITx, Boston, USA). His commercial and financial leadership roles has given him the opportunity to live and work in China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, United Arab Emirates, UK, and the USA, and he speaks Japanese, Indonesian and basic Mandarin Chinese. He has over 25-years of experience in commercial, analytical and editorial roles in a variety of companies in the global energy industry, with a focus on renewables.

He is married, has two teenage children and plays guitar in his spare time.
